Illinois Trucking Index monthly updated adequate data indicating economic growth in Trucking Industry.
The Illinois Trucking Association reports on 7/28/2021 that Illinois Trucking Flash Index, a leading indicator on the economy as it relates to trucking, rose 3.5 points from last week to 125.22 on a scale where readings above 100 indicate a growing economy. One year ago, the index was 120.00.
Last week, nearly all trucking companies indicated that they have had to increase driver pay this year. This week, we asked companies on a percentage basis, how much have they had to increase driver pay. 52% of trucking companies have had to increase driver pay by 8% or more; 30% of all companies have increased driver pay by 10% or more.
Each month we ask motor carriers to rank the approval/disapproval of the governor's handling of the pandemic. 26% of motor carriers now approve up from 19% last month. Please check here for more details.
